In Shapechanger’s Birth Mary McCarthy travels throughout Ireland and to Liverpool and London. Follow her in tours both virtual and actual.
Getting There
Travelers from Europe and the United States may prefer to use the economy airline Aer Lingus to travel to and from Ireland. Be sure to join the travel site, which is free of charge. This will let you do all your bookings, reservations management, check ins, and so on from the net.
Getting Around
Ireland has excellent and inexpensive rail and bus service. The United Kingdom rail and bus service is also good.
You may choose to rent a car. You will not need air conditioning, but if you are not used to driving on the left side of the road you should rent a car with an automatic transmission to remove one source of distraction from your driving. The best booking service I found for car rental was Expedia.
Your Tour
You might start on the west coast of Ireland in Galway. Most of Mary’s parents and family and those of her husband grew up near there. Early after marrying Mary and her husband moved to the south coast of Galway bay. They settled near Ballyvaughan. More info on this is a small but lively town is on the Web sites run by the Ballyvaughan Development Group, by Tour Clare, and by the Ballyvaughan section of the excellent Clare County Library.
